The Give Life 5K brings together hundreds of supporters of organ, eye and tissue donation to celebrate the gift of life.

All participants, supporters, and attendees are encouraged to register so we can properly account for all individuals in attendance from a safety perspective. All proceeds from the Give Life 5K benefit Iowa Donor Network programs to support our donor families, provide education, and save and improve lives.

Yes. Participants of all ages need to be registered. Children under the age of 5 will be "registered" under the "Additional Purchases" section as a free purchase so our staff can track attendance accurately.

Unfortunately, we do not have paper registration forms, but if you are unable to register through our online process, please call us at 319-631-7436 and we would be happy to assist you with registering over the phone with a credit card.

Your race packet will include information regarding event timelines, sponsors, and vendors. If you are a Runner, your packet will also include your race bib. Also included in your race packet will be a $2 vendor coupon and a collectible lapel pin.

There will be food vendors on site that will accept cash or card. There is also a t-shirt competition where you vote for your favorite t-shirt by making a donation with cash or Venmo.

Each participant will receive a discount code to their email to purchase items from Iowa Donor Network's Apparel Store! With each fundraising milestone you reach on your personal fundraising page your discount code increases, so get fundraising! Be sure to share your personal fundraising page or request your supporters to search your name when making a contribution.

Yes, you can. Registering for the 5K prior to race day is encouraged and the only way to guarantee you will receive the event race packet. Please note the cost for registration will increase for day-of registrations.

Yes! We love to see our supporters from around the United States support Iowa Donor Network and organ, eye and tissue donation. Choose "Virtual Adult" or "Virtual Youth" to participate in the 5K from afar.

Yes. 5K race times will be collected for everyone who registers. Children under 5 will not receive a timed bib.

Back by popular demand, the Circle of Life Garden are 15x20 posters which proudly display images and names honoring those who have been impacted by organ, eye, and tissue donation. Individuals featured include organ and tissue donors, organ transplant recipients, and living donors who have given, or received, the gift of life. At the 5K these posters will line the walkway of the Start and Finish line for all participating to admire. The Garden is a place for family and friends to gather and remember their loved ones during the Give Life 5K. We would love our families to be able to display their loved ones poster at home leading up to the 5K and take it home with them after if they choose. If the posters are left in Iowa Donor Network's care, they may be displayed at other Iowa Donor Network events to honor their gift. You may purchase a poster during registration for $15. Posters will be available for pick-up after your registration is completed. Creation of your poster may take 1-2 weeks. An Iowa Donor Network employee will notify you when your poster is available.

Yes, dogs are allowed at the public park. Please pick up after your dog, and keep them on a short leash to keep them out of the runners’ path.

Yes, just stay aware of your surroundings while running/walking/rolling!

Yes, we will have some food trucks on site! You will be provided with a vendor coupon in your packet to utilize at a vendor of your choice.

To start your own team, after clicking "Register" select the "Start a new team" option. On the next screen you can choose your team name, goal, connect the team to a company if applicable, and continue with your registration. If you have already registered, contact our Events Specialist, Anna, at awardenburg@iadn.org and she can create the team and assign you to that new team.

Absolutely! We encourage you to honor your loved one. If you create a shirt, be sure to provide an extra shirt to our Events Specialist by May 3rd for our T-shirt competition! You can drop off your shirt at packet pick-up May 2nd or 3rd, or at the Altoona office front desk anytime before the event.

Yes. You may pick-up packets for your team during one of the pick-up sessions. We ask that you communicate to your team that you will be picking up all packets.

We do not require participants to fundraise. Fundraising is encouraged and welcomed to help keep special programs and events running.

Fundraising for the 2025 Give Life 5K will end on June 3, 2025.

Donations collected offline can be mailed to Iowa Donor Network, c/o Anna Wardenburg, 550 Madison Ave., North Liberty, IA 52317 or delivered to an Iowa Donor Network office. If the money should be directed toward a specific team's fundraising goals, please specify.

Check contributions for your team should be made out to Iowa Donor Network. Please be sure to include the team or fundraiser's name in the memo line.

No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
